Well... almost certainly. But the great thing about digital photography is that whilst I always shoot in colour I can drop some shots into black and white later on.

And there’s no doubt about it, black and white often gives you that “classic” look that remains timeless. You will hope for a beautiful sunny day on your wedding. But with the best will in the world, the weather might be unkind, and I find that on these sorts of days black and white photos can sometimes work better than colour.

Anyway, all those decisions can be made when you see the contact sheets a few days after your wedding. Most of my wedding clients end up choosing albums with the majority of photos in colour with a few of the most dramatic shots dropped into black and white.

The only thing you need to know at this stage is that
I don’t reproduce what I call “gimmicky” wedding photographs. You might have seen examples of what
I mean. Perhaps a black and white shot of the groom with the rose in his button hole retouched into a vivid red.
I appreciate the artistic process involved, it’s just not my style of photograph.
